Ad placement spec and rollout checklist

This page defines where sponsored placements are allowed, where they are explicitly blocked, and how rollout QA should be run before loading live inventory.

  • Never place ads adjacent to estimator next-step buttons, export actions, or quote CTAs.
  • Ads must remain visually distinct from navigation, downloads, and result controls.
  • Use ad slots only on educational content pages and keep one full content block of separation from action clusters.
  • Do not test live ads in internal QA in ways that inflate impressions or clicks.

  • Review policy center warnings and invalid-traffic alerts after rollout.
  • Track ad-enabled page templates separately from estimator and quote flows.
  • Review export rate limiting, partner click rates, and unusual CTR spikes together.
  • Keep a non-production QA path for placement review without loading live ad inventory.
